FAQ & Safety

Frequently Asked Questions

Korean exfoliating mitt resting gently on a folded towel

How firmly should I use the exfoliating mitt?

Start with light to medium pressure, especially the first few times. The traditional jjimjilbang scrub is firm, but there's no need to force it on day one, your skin will tell you what it can handle. Never scrub over broken, sunburned, or irritated skin.

How often should I exfoliate?

Traditionally once or twice a week for the full 3-step ritual. Daily exfoliation with a firm mitt can be harsh on the skin barrier, this isn't the traditional Korean approach.

Is this safe for sensitive skin?

Sensitive or reactive skin can still take part in the ritual, but we recommend a lighter touch, a shorter session, and always a patch test with any new soap or oil before full use. If irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a dermatologist.

How do I clean and store the mitt between uses?

Rinse thoroughly after each use and hang it fully open to air-dry, ideally away from direct sunlight. A damp, folded mitt left in a closed shower is the most common cause of odor or reduced lifespan. For hygiene reasons, exfoliating mitts are a personal-use item and shouldn't be shared between household members.

Can I use the soap and oil on my face?

Our soap and oil formulas are designed primarily for the body. Facial skin is more delicate, if you'd like to try them on your face, patch test first and use gentler pressure than you would on the body.

Can children use these products?

We don't recommend firm exfoliation or the full ritual for children without guidance from a parent or, for very young or sensitive skin, a pediatrician or dermatologist.

What if I'm pregnant or have a skin condition?

As with any new skincare or bathing product, we recommend checking with a healthcare provider before starting, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, or managing an existing skin condition.

Can I return a used mitt, soap, or oil?

For hygiene reasons, opened or used items can't be returned unless defective. See our Refund Policy for full details.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, see our Shipping Policy for processing times, delivery estimates, and coverage.
